Hello!  My name is Alexandra, thank you for taking the time to read about me and my approach to the therapeutic experience.  I believe that everyone has the potential to learn, grow, and heal when provided a safe space that facilitates empowerment, support, and education. I believe that the exploration of attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors and how they may be related to our current difficulties is essential in reaching one’s fullest potential.

My Approach & Values

Alexandra D. Smith, MS, AMFT is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who is dedicated to empowering clients throughout their journey of growth and self-healing. Alexandra has worked with patients from diverse backgrounds and her clinical experience includes individual therapy, couples therapy, and child therapy. Alexandra focuses on adults, couples, and children/adolescents with depression, anxiety, personal life-transition challenges, bipolar disorder, and adjustment disorder.

Originally from California, Alexandra received a master’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling with Distinction from California State University, Fresno. She additionally graduated Summa Cum Laude with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Fresno, and has an Associate Degree in Social Science from Porterville College.

Alexandra completed her internship at Fresno Family Counseling Center where she worked with a diverse population of adults, children, families, and couples to provide counseling services as well as facilitating anger management classes. Additionally, Alexandra was a therapist for Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission, a sanctuary transitional shelter that operates as an overnight shelter for homeless or otherwise displaced youth and young adults.
