“Vulnerability is no winning or losing; it’s having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome.”

Brené Brown

Welcome! Therapy is such an amazing bond that is built between therapist and patient. It is not easy to let someone into the darkness, hurt or dark places in our lives and I feel privileged when I can walk alongside patients and be with them through those times. As a Mexican-American individual that grew up with immigrant parents, I especially have a passion in working with the Spanish speaking and Latin community and hope to be able provide services that are so deeply needed. I use various forms of treatment and have worked with individuals of all ages and walks of life. My main approach is usually a humanistic approach and work through some existential concepts of grief, loss and existential questions that may come up in our lives. I am so honored to work with patients and for them to be able to let me into their lives. I look forward to meeting you and starting to face those challenges that may come up in life.

My Approach & Values

Xochitl was born and raised in the Central Valley.  She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Fresno Pacific University and continued with her graduate studies at Fresno Pacific University to obtain her Master of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fresno Pacific University.

Xochitl has worked with a variety of individuals and specializes in providing therapy services to the Spanish speaking community. She uses Humanistic approaches such as Rogerian techniques of empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence. Xochitl also formulates through an existential theoretical approach and prioritizes exploring those existential questions that may come up in life.  Xochitl enjoys working with children as young as two years of age, all the way through the adolescent years and young adulthood. She incorporates a nondirective play therapy approach with younger children as she believes that play is the language in which children can communicate and explore any issues that may present in their lives.

When not serving her patients and working Xochitl enjoys spending time with loved ones and outings that include dancing, singing, and music in general!
