Hello, my name is Annisa- and I look forward to meeting you in the therapeutic setting. Everyone needs help healing at various times in life and I am passionate about taking that journey with you. I have experience working with children, teens, new mothers, couples, and families. The first step would be to create a safe space for you to begin to grow. I utilize various evidenced based practices to meet your needs. I am passionate about Client-Centered Therapy techniques and trauma therapy. I also have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and attachment-based interventions, including, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Annisa is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who has a passion for working with children, adolescents, young adults, couples, and new parents navigating difficult life transitions. Annisa began working at Central Valley Family Therapy in 2019 after working as a school-based clinician in an elementary school setting.
Annisa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Saint Mary’s College of California in 2016. Annisa then completed her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Santa Clara University in 2019.
Therapy can be a vulnerable and unique process, and Annisa strives to create a safe and supportive space throughout this process that fosters each client’s desired healing and growth. Annisa takes an integrative approach to working with clients and utilizes many different therapeutic techniques in order to best fit the needs of each individual client.
Additionally, since joining Central Valley Family Therapy, Annisa has completed comprehensive and advanced training in working with the perinatal population, women that have transitioned to motherhood as well as, women that have experienced perinatal grief and loss. This developed from seeing mothers and their families in distress before, during, and after the birth of a child. She feels a calling to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space for women and mothers. She is excited to be a part of the Central Valley Family Therapy team and the opportunity to learn and grow as a therapist.
