“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
It is my desire to walk along with you during the therapeutic process; to have you progress at a pace in treatment that is comfortable for you. I will support you as you begin to see the beauty and the challenges that exist within the grey of life. It is my intention to make space in the therapeutic relationship for you to feel safe, and secure while simultaneously you work towards dispelling feelings of guilt and shame.
My Approach & Values

In his time as a professional mental health clinician Barrett has accumulated experience in working with a variety of populations, including, children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Issues he has encountered and helped people work through include; depression, anxiety, adhd, self-esteem issues, manic and hypomanic episodes, dual diagnosis, substance dependence, grief and loss, divorce, co-dependency, men’s issues, Barrett’s therapeutic lens is founded in utilizing the work of Brene Brown, 12 Step Recovery, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Family Therapy, Gottman Couple’s Therapy, Humanistic and Existential modalities of therapy.
Barrett has a deep understanding of the pain caused by the loss of self that occurs in a dysfunctional family system. This disconnection may be showing up as anger, addiction, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, low self-esteem, difficulty maintaining relationships, loneliness and isolation, feeling out of control of your life, feeling trapped in a situation you don’t really want to be in, experiencing grief/loss or going through a life transition, among others. Barrett believes that healing takes place when a reconnection with your authentic self takes place.
