“The only person you are destined to become, is the person you decide to be.”

– Ralph Waldo Emerson

Therapy and healing can seem daunting, but it is a process, and you are taking the first brave step in getting the care and support you deserve. In my role as your therapist, I see myself as your co-pilot and you are the captain. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Together, we can “tailor-fit” a care-approach that speaks to you and will empower you towards your growth and healing.

My Approach & Values

Courtney is an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist who is passionate about supporting and working with clients on their journey towards self-discovery, growth, and enrichment. Courtney enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults, parents, and families who are navigating challenges with depression, anxiety, life transitions, parenting, adoption, and trauma-recovery.

Courtney was raised in a small, rural town in the Central Valley and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Fresno and then continued on to earn her Masters in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling. She worked as a facilitator with Central Star Wraparound Program assisting and supporting children placed in foster care who demonstrated mental health needs requiring intensive home-based services as well as families transitioning through reunification. Courtney completed her internship at Fresno Family Counseling Center serving the community by providing therapy services for individuals, groups, couples, and families. She then worked at Clinica Sierra Vista serving those struggling with severe mental health disorders.

Courtney understands that we are all different. We each learn in our own ways, and different things speak to each of us, but she believes you are the expert on you. Courtney strives to provide a safe, nurturing environment to allow you to learn about yourself so you can thrive. She utilizes various modalities to find the most appropriate fit for your unique needs and circumstances. She draws most readily from, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy theoretical orientations in the therapeutic process.
