Life does not always hand us the easy road. Life does not always allow for us to be in the right frame of mind to always do the right thing at the right time. To know this is to remember that you are human. We are not born knowing the best way to navigate the worst circumstances. Our mistakes do not make us bad people. Our mistakes, when met with awareness and personal responsibility, are actually what introduce us to our best selves. You are beautiful because of all of your experiences, the good, the bad, and the imperfect.” - Cleo Wade, Heart Talk: Poetic Wisdom for a Better Life

Welcome to CVFT. My name is Brittani, and I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. We all face life challenges that can make it difficult to process our emotions, make decisions, or move forward in our healing journey. I believe therapy provides a vital space for support, where we can explore our experiences and gain a deeper understanding of ourselves, fostering healing and growth. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is not to make decisions for you or provide ready-made answers. Instead, I aim to collaborate with you in navigating the challenges you’re encountering, empowering you to make the choices that align with your goals and aspirations. Creating a safe, supportive environment where you can express yourself freely and guide the pace of our sessions is my priority. My approach is centered on listening and learning from you, so I can offer tailored support and flexible tools that help you move towards the outcomes you desire and deserve.

My Approach & Values

Brittani is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor dedicated to helping clients define and achieve their personal and professional goals. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business-Human Resources Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Sacramento. After several years working in human resources, she transitioned into counseling, earning a Master of Science in Counselor Education with a specialization in Career Counseling.

Brittani has worked with various nonprofit organizations in the Sacramento area, supporting families, women, children, and young adults through life’s challenges. She completed her internship as a Clinical and Wellness Therapist, where she provided support to formerly incarcerated individuals and those impacted by the criminal justice system. Additionally, Brittani has extensive experience working with adults and youth survivors of intimate partner violence, sex trafficking, and sexual assault. She has helped clients navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, sobriety, life stressors, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. Her background in career counseling and human resources equips her with the expertise to assist clients in career exploration, navigating college decisions, and managing career transitions.

Brittani enjoys working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families. She has a special interest in supporting new mothers, recognizing the unique challenges that motherhood can bring. Her therapeutic approach is holistic and person-centered, drawing from various evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Expressive/Art-based practices, and Strength-Based techniques. Brittani believes in the uniqueness of each individual and tailors her approach to meet the specific needs and interests of her clients.
