Hi, I’m Afshin (pronounced “of-sheen”), an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist passionate about supporting individuals and families as they navigate life’s challenges. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you find the path to healing and personal growth. I look forward to working with you!

My Approach & Values

Afshin (pronounced “of-sheen”) is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to supporting clients across diverse life stages. They are particularly passionate about working with new mothers, young children, adolescents, and individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community. Their journey in mental health services began over eight years ago while working with the juvenile justice population at a local nonprofit. This experience ignited their commitment to helping clients achieve their mental health goals and foster personal growth.

Afshin earned their Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno. While working in the field, they identified a pressing need for mental health support among at-risk adolescents and their families. Their professional experience spans a variety of settings, including work with young children, families, and individuals facing substance use disorders. During their graduate studies in Marriage and Family Therapy at Touro University Worldwide, Afshin provided family, couples, individual, and group therapy in a perinatal substance use disorder treatment center, focusing on helping new mothers navigate motherhood while rediscovering themselves and their sobriety.

Afshin is committed to creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered as they navigate life’s transitions and challenges. They take an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring interventions to meet each client’s unique needs. Afshin’s expertise includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, with a central emphasis on Narrative Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). They also enjoy incorporating creative methods such as art therapy, mindfulness, and other experiential activities to foster deeper healing and self-discovery.

Afshin looks forward to collaborating with clients on their journey toward growth and healing.
