The place of true healing is a fierce place. It's a giant place. It's a place of monstrous beauty and endless dark and glimmering light. And you have to work really, really, really hard to get there, but you can do it." -Cheryl Strayed

My name is Angelica, and I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I commend you for taking this courageous first step toward healing. My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel safe to explore and grow. I work from a narrative therapy perspective, collaborating with you to understand your story, its impact, and how we can foster meaningful change. Therapy is a shared journey, and I tailor my approach to best support your unique needs.

My Approach & Values

Angelica is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a Minor in Chicano/Latino Studies from UC Irvine. Born and raised in California’s Central Valley, she is a first-generation Mexican American who is passionate about culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.

Angelica’s approach centers on compassion, empowerment, mindfulness, and building on clients’ strengths. She values the impact of culture on identity and offers bilingual services in both English and Spanish, encouraging clients to communicate in whichever language—or blend of languages—feels most authentic. She believes language is a powerful tool for healing and self-expression.

Her therapeutic style is person-centered and integrative, drawing from Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. She also incorporates creativity and play in sessions, using activities like art, crafts, and games, particularly when working with children and adolescents.

Angelica supports individuals and families navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and relational concerns. In her free time, she enjoys reading, painting, nail art, and spending quality time with her loved ones and her dog. She believes in practicing what she encourages—making time for self-care and connection.
