“Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming”
- John Wooden

Hello, my name is David, and I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker for Central Valley Family Therapy. I am fully committed to gaining a better understanding of who you are and the experiences you’ve been through. I believe that it is important for me to create a space in which you are able to be honest and vulnerable. My approach is to be a guide in helping you navigate through the areas in life that you are seeking help with. I view therapy as a tool that we can all use to help better understand, not only ourselves, but also the world in which we live in. It is my hope that I can support you in creating the best version of yourself.

My Approach & Values

David is an Associate Clinical Social Worker, who is committed to empowering individuals to seek out their maximum potential. David’s passion for providing support to clientele stems from wanting to change the cultural stigmas surrounding mental health services. David has an interest in serving diverse clientele, which include children, adolescents, young adults, and couples.

David obtained his Bachelor of Social Work at Fresno Pacific University. He then went on to receive his Master of Social Work at Cal Baptist University. Two internships in college helped David in developing strong cultural awareness, and empathy for individuals he worked with. David spent time working with individuals enrolled in the Batterers Intervention Program, where he helped facilitate classes educating groups on how they can better engage in personal relationships. David spent time working with a non profit organization in Fresno, in which he mentored at risk youth in a school setting, while also facilitating parenting classes to young teen parents.

Born and raised in Fresno, California, David grew up with the assumption that showing your emotions was something a young man shouldn’t do. As he started to become more independent, David found that there is a world out there accepting of his vulnerability and who he is as a whole. Seeking out growth and understanding of self has motivated David to pursuing a position to helping the many populations with their own mental health. David is an advocate for helping the most vulnerable populations, as every individual is worthy of support regardless of socioeconomic status. David hopes to break generational cycles and help his clients start new ones for their families.

David’s main focus when working with clients is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

When he is not working, David enjoys spending time with his family, being active with his church, and playing golf on the weekends with his friends.
