My Approach & Values

 

Diasha is a compassionate and skilled Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a proven ability to support children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She graduated with honors from Fresno Pacific University in 2014, earning a bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in Conflict Resolution and Peacemaking. Continuing her academic pursuit, Diasha completed her Master’s in Couple and Family Therapy at Alliant International University in San Diego in 2021. She is currently working towards her doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, focusing on Culture, Diversity, and Social Justice in a Global Context, with an anticipated completion in 2026. Her research centers on intergenerational trauma and its effects on family division and self-perception.

Prior to joining Central Valley Family Therapy, Diasha amassed substantial experience in diverse therapeutic environments. At My Time Recovery, she provided essential support to individuals battling addiction. She also worked with severely mentally ill individuals at Mental Health Systems: Fresno Impact and supported children in the foster care system at the California Psychological Institute. Diasha excels in conducting group, individual, and family therapy sessions and is adept in various evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Seeking Safety.

A native of Fresno, California, Diasha has built strong connections and lasting relationships within her community. She enjoys traveling, writing poetry, walking her dog, and attending concerts. Passionate about helping others, Diasha thrives in environments that emphasize mutual support and teamwork. She is particularly attuned to the impact of environmental concerns, the identification of negative behavioral patterns, and the influence of intergenerational trauma on mental health and family dynamics. Diasha integrates these insights into her therapeutic approach, ensuring a holistic and empathetic treatment experience for her clients.
