"Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we will ever do.” – Brene Brown

Hi, I’m Emma Hernandez! I believe therapy is a collaborative process grounded in building upon each individual’s strengths and resilience to support healing and personal growth. In my practice, I utilize evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, while also integrating psychoeducation, mindfulness, and creative interventions as appropriate. It is a privilege to be part of your therapeutic journey, and I appreciate the opportunity to work with you.

My Approach & Values

Emma is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who believes in the inherent resilience of individuals and the capacity for healing when supported by meaningful connections and effective therapeutic tools. She has a particular interest in working with young adults and perinatal women, supporting clients navigating depression, anxiety, life transitions, and trauma recovery.

Raised on a chicken farm in Indiana, Emma earned her Bachelor of Arts in Family Life from Southern Virginia University, where she developed a strong interest in working within family systems. After relocating to California, she obtained a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San José State University. Following her own experiences with infertility, pregnancy loss, and grief, Emma’s professional focus shifted toward mental health. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University Worldwide. Emma completed her clinical practicum at Cornerstone Family Counseling in Oakhurst, California, where she provided therapy to children, adolescents, individuals, and families.

Emma is committed to providing individualized, holistic care and tailors her therapeutic approach to meet each client’s unique needs. She works from a family systems and attachment-based framework, utilizing evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. She also integrates psychoeducation, mindfulness, and creative interventions into the therapeutic process when appropriate. Outside of the therapy room, Emma enjoys spending time with her family and reading.
