“It’s never overreacting to ask for what you want and need.” - Amy Poehler

I am Jazmin Ozuna. I am a therapist. I don’t look at therapy as just a career, it is a way to genuinely help people. Ever since I was 16 I knew I wanted to help people I just did not know how or the approach. Until therapy was introduced. I have become aware of the impact and necessity of helping people through mental and emotional issues. I approach my clients with an open-minded view of things. I am compassionate and intentional when it comes to helping my clients. I developed a quote “I want to help people help themselves.” I want to help people with the tools to improve their lives as well as heal the trauma they went through or are currently going through. To heal through it healthily, as well as develop and use the tools to continue their lives.

I view therapy as a part of self-care and development within the individual’s life. Something we can all use and benefit from. Mental health has become a huge part of society in the aspect of health. Being mentally healthy will get us far and we will continue to thrive. Being healthy is not just about physical. It is also about mental, how we process, develop, and digest the events and situations currently occurring or that may happen.

My style of treatment includes talk therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, and family group therapy. I have worked with individuals who have been diagnosed with as well as experienced anxiety disorders, depression, domestic violence, substance abuse, PTSD, trauma, and grief. Other styles of treatments I use are Cognitive-behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy. I do not limit myself to these techniques or styles I adjust to every client’s needs due to the fact no two clients will be the same.

My Approach & Values

Jazmin is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She is excited, passionate, and intrigued to work with people and help them. She understands that life events can be impactful no matter the depth of the event. Jazmin enjoys working with children, teens, young adults, and adults. She is excited to work with a range of clients whether it be age or gender. Jazmin has degrees in Associate of Psychology, a Bachelor of Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. She began her journey at Fresno City Community College, attended Fresno State, and finished at National University.

She was born in Texas but has spent the majority of her life in California around the Central Valley. She is no stranger to life-altering events. Right out of high school, she knew she wanted to help people, so she went straight for her psychology degree and continued on the path of therapy. Due to the fact she has ventured out and lived in different areas she has experienced different living settings. She has worked with rehabilitation clients in an in-patient setting.

Jazmin is an open-minded individual, she is dedicated, sincere, and compassionate to those she comes into contact with. Jazmin uses talk therapy, individual, group, and family/group therapy. Jazmin uses treatments such as  Cognitive-behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. She is not limited to just these. She has worked with clients who were diagnosed with anxiety disorders, depression, and PTSD. She has worked with individuals who have experienced domestic violence, substance abuse, and grief. Jazmin is aware no two clients are the same and that everyone deserves to feel heard and understood and will adjust to the client’s needs.
