“The way we live our lives is influenced by the stories we tell ourselves”.

“Change is possible, but we don’t randomly change. We can intentionally change if we know what needs to be addressed and recognize the patterns. "

Dr. Bruce Perry M.D., Ph.D.

I believe the therapeutic relationship begins in a nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely. I am therapist with a narrative orientation who will walk alongside you in your journey of self-reflection and discovery. With unconditional positive regard, I will challenge and support you during the introspective process to assist you in reauthoring your own story and begin working towards creating the positive change you desire within yourself.

My Approach & Values

Nicole Castillo is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who has experience working with diverse populations. Nicole is dedicated to bringing compassionate as well as directive care to children/adolescents, young adults, and families. Nicole brings a narrative approach to therapy and is enthusiastic about working with all clients towards creating empowerment and positive change through rewriting their story.

Originally from the Central Valley, Nicole graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Development from Fresno Pacific University in 2015. She continued her education and received her Master of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2020 from Fresno Pacific University, Biblical Seminary. During her time in college, Nicole became passionate about the importance of children developing healthy social/emotional skills as well as the impact of trauma on development.

Prior to providing services at Central Valley Family Therapy, Nicole completed her internships  where she worked with children, families, and individuals in a therapeutic setting. Nicole also has extensive experience supporting individuals, families, and children, who have been impacted by moderate/severe trauma in their lives.

Nicole enjoys working with children/adolescents, young adults, the LGBTQ+ community, those in grief, and trauma recovery. Nicole believes that each client is unique and requires treatment be tailored to the individual, and implements a variety of modalities from CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, solution focused, person-centered, brief therapy and play therapy to assist clients in reaching their goals.
