Clinical Supervisor

“Anything that's human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, less scary.” - Fred Rogers

My name is Rufina Sandoval, and I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker proficient in both English and Spanish. Throughout my professional trajectory, I have cultivated a comprehensive skill set that encompasses supervisory roles, educational endeavors, and the provision of therapeutic services to a diverse clientele. My expertise lies in assisting adolescents, adults, and couples as they navigate through life’s challenges, including but not limited to adjustments, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, and other stress-related issues.

My Approach & Values

Rufina’s commitment to aiding others was ignited at an early age, a passion that has been a constant throughout her life. Originating from Mexico and relocating to the United States at the tender age of eight, Rufina has been deeply involved in her local church community, taking on leadership roles within the youth group throughout her high school years.

Pursuing higher education, Rufina attended California State University, Fresno, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2001, followed by a Master’s degree in Social Work in 2004. With over twelve years of licensure under her belt, her enthusiasm for mentorship, education, and client support in their personal and professional development has only grown. She adopts a personalized approach to therapy, tailoring her methods to the unique needs of each individual. By focusing on strengths and fostering diverse perspectives in treatment, she strives to empower those she works with to build resilience and achieve their full potential.

In addition to her clinical competencies, Rufina brings forth robust management supervision skills, emphasizing team leadership, professional development, and the promotion of a supportive, collaborative environment. Her approach is grounded in the belief that effective supervision extends beyond oversight, serving as a cornerstone for skill enhancement, reflective practice, and the cultivation of a high-performing, empathetic team capable of delivering exceptional care.
