"The morning will come again, because no darkness or season can last forever. Once winter passes, spring will come again."-Namjoon Kim

Hello, my name is Sehajjyot Grewal, but please call me Sehaj.  Thank you for taking the time to stop by my bio to learn more about me.  I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist here at Central Valley Family Therapy.  I believe that life is a journey that is marked by immeasurable ebbs and flows and ups and downs. My goal is to help my clients gain an understanding about themselves and help them live their best lives. I believe that through personal growth, we can live out our full potential and carry meaningful relationships. With each client, I provide a kind and warm environment. Life is a long journey and I, as your therapist, am here to be a support person to you during these highs and lows.

My Approach & Values

Sehaj is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about working with all clients towards the goals of acceptance and balance. Sehaj works with adults, children, and families.

Originally from India, Sehaj moved to the Houston, TX area when she was just 6 years old. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Houston, with a minor in Anthropology. She then moved to California to acquire her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Sehaj completed  her internship at Stepping Stone of San Diego, a residential treatment facility specialized in treating the LGBTQ+ community.

Sehaj emphasizes working from a Systemic Perspective seeking to address people not solely on an individual level, but through the analysis of the individual’s interactions with various systems, including relationships, their family of origin, larger society and culture. Further, Sehaj utilizes a multimodal perspective to treatment, integrating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Psychoanalysis and Internal Family Systems. Sehaj feels that every client is unique, and thus requires a unique approach to treatment. In her spare time, Sehaj appreciates all forms of art.  She enjoys relaxing and watching shows and movies, listening to music, and reading books.
