"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” ~ Anaïs Nin

"It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried." —Carl Rogers

Hello and welcome. Thank you for taking the time to invest in yourself and look for a therapist to support you in life and healing. We rarely hear messages in society encouraging us to explore our vulnerabilities and pain, nor to admit we seek more contentment or want to grow and change. I’ve learned we can’t carry heavy things alone and that healing is possible, but not perfect. You deserve to explore new possibilities, understand yourself better and gain more control over your thoughts and feelings. I am honored to be by your side as you walk through this process.

My Approach & Values

Jillian is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is motivated to deliver respectful and personalized mental health care to diverse community members of all ages.

Jillian moved to Fresno in the fourth grade, her parents were born and raised in Ohio. She attended California State University, San Luis Obispo for her bachelor’s degree (in Journalism and French language) and went on to receive her Master’s in Psychology from the University of Westminster in London, England and her Masters in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from California State University, Fresno.

Jillian’s past experience includes case management and early childhood mental and behavioral health intervention with the 0-6 population and their caregivers. She is passionate about early intervention, as well as helping caregivers strengthen parent-child attachment, learn positive discipline skills, and promote the child’s emotional regulation and social skills.

Jillian worked as a Facilitator in the Wrap Around program providing intensive advocacy and care for children and adolescents (ages 4-21) placed in foster care and assisting their care providers. She has also provided therapy to teens at the high school level, adults of all ages, couples, families and groups like anger management and co-parenting.

Jillian is dedicated to providing a safe and accepting environment where clients can learn about themselves, and explore self-acceptance, personal goals, and trauma.

Jillian integrates techniques from person-centered therapy, psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy, attachment, and family systems theories, along with some CBT interventions. With children, Jillian utilizes child-led play therapy, and is passionate about helping caregivers learn skills to support the child in the home and school settings. Jillian truly believes that we all need to learn these skills and parents can’t expect themselves to know what they haven’t learned yet, just be willing to learn.

Jillian loves travel, the ocean, animals, meeting new people and helping spread information about the importance and necessity of mental health care for all people.
