"The past can hurt. But, they way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it.”-Rafiki, The Lion King

Hello and welcome!

I’m delighted to have the opportunity to introduce myself and share a bit about my approach to therapy. My name is Jacob and I am a  therapist with a deep passion for play therapy. I firmly believe in the power of play as a transformative tool in therapy, especially when it comes to working with children and families.  In my practice, I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and playful environment where all clients, regardless of age, can feel at ease to explore, express, and grow. My approach is centered around the understanding that each individual is unique, and so are the ways they express and experience the world around them.

My Approach & Values

Jacob is a distinguished Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, celebrated for his dedication to empowering clients to achieve their optimal selves and realize their full potential. With a specialized focus on children, teenagers, couples, and individuals grappling with mental health challenges, Jacob employs a blend of narrative therapy, person-centered approaches, and play therapy to facilitate transformative healing journeys.

Born and nurtured in Northern California, Jacob’s academic journey is marked by excellence. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from California Baptist University in 2021, where he honed his skills and knowledge in counseling. Jacob’s pursuit of excellence continued with his Master of Science in Counseling Psychology, further solidifying his expertise in the field.

Jacob’s practical experience is both rich and varied. He completed an intensive practicum at San Bernardino Community Hospital’s outpatient program. Here, he was instrumental in delivering classes and providing one-on-one counseling to adults with chronic mental health conditions, showcasing his adeptness in handling complex therapeutic scenarios.

His affinity for working with children extends beyond his professional life. As the eldest among his cousins, Jacob has always been in a nurturing role, a responsibility he has embraced with compassion and understanding. This natural inclination towards care and guidance is further evidenced by his involvement with children at school and church settings.

Jacob views therapy as a universally beneficial tool, transcending all personal challenges. He is particularly passionate about play therapy, a method that offers children a unique avenue to express and work through their issues creatively and intuitively. His approach underscores the importance of empathy and compassion in therapeutic relationships.

Outside his professional sphere, Jacob is an enthusiast of the arts and leisure. He finds joy in writing, immersing himself in movies, engaging in board games, and cherishing moments with his beloved cats. This holistic approach to life enhances his ability to connect with clients on multiple levels, fostering a therapeutic environment that is both inclusive and nurturing.
